Season 2004 to 2005 Review
UNDER 8 'S
The U8's started their league campaign outside playing on grass for
the first time. After a very successful campaign the previous Year,
indoors at the Middlesbrough Community Centre which the boys won,
they found playing outside on grass a totally new experience. Wind,
rain, sleet and bitterly cold days, turning up for away games without
a changing room to stay warm in until kick-off was a bit of a shock to the system! After a slow start, losing their first three games the boys found
their feet with a win at lowly Nunthorpe to see themselves go on a seven
game unbeaten run beating eventual runners up Marton away along the
way, the performance of the season by far. Our nearest rivals Teesside Athletic endured two gruelling games against us and were very fortunate to get four points off us after late goals in both games salvaged a point in the
first match and a lucky own goal in the second on a very cold windy day
earned them all three points, desperately unlucky not just in that game
but in several throughout the season. With a bit more luck the boys could
have finished third instead of sixth which would have been thoroughly
deserved after the bad start to the season.
Well done boys!

Season 2003 to 2004 Review
For the first time there has been a league for under 7's. The boys this season have had to play 5 a side
and 8 a side instead of the normal 7 a side which we have all been used to. At the beginning of the mini 5 a
side the boys got off to a flying start with an tremendous 10-0 win, and went on to
WIN 9 games DRAW 3 and lose 2, scoring 70 goals and conceding 27.
With a bit of experience under there belts they set about the 8 a side on a larger pitch.
What a season it turned out to be, every game seemed to be a CUP FINAL.
They played 12 games WON 10 DREW 2 and LOST 0 scoring 41 goals and conceded the least amount in the league a
meagre 8 goals, a fantastic achievement.
All of the boys have shown great courage and determination with a sheer will to win, and a never say die attitude.
There has never been a dull moment all season and at the presentation night as the boys brushed past the giant
picture of Gareth Southgate he fell over, whistle went another penalty we couldn't believe it !!!!
Well done Graham, Stu, and Kev
